Holiday fun continues

More holiday fun is to be had in Gloucester and Mathews counties through the weekend and into next week.

Tonight, Thursday, Dec. 14, Mathews Memorial Library will hold its Sounds of the Season event from 7-8. Celebrate the season with an evening of light classics and holiday music. The enchanting sounds will ring through the library, putting visitors in the perfect mood to enjoy traditional holiday pudding and wassail.

On Saturday, Mathews Outdoor Club will hold its “Grinches Gallop,” a 5K and one-mile fun run/walk beginning at 8 a.m. at Mathews High School. Enjoy hot chocolate/cider at the finish line. The cost is $50 to race. This event is a fundraiser for the MHS Athletic Boosters.

Flat Iron Crossroads, Gloucester, will hold its Holiday Blues-A-Palooza Saturday night from 6:30-9:30. Kelly Bell Band and Jenny Langer & Moonshine Society will perform. Special guests include Ron Holloway and Carly Harvey. Ticket prices range from $30-$55.
