Community’s help sought for Mathews Christmas Store

The holidays are right around the corner, and that means that the Mathews County Christmas Store will be returning as well.“For almost half a century, the Mathews County Christmas Store has made a heartfelt difference at the holidays for our community’s residents and families in need,” according to Christmas Store coordinator Bernadette La Casse.Many families are faced with a difficult decision between putting food on the table and gas in the car or buying holiday gifts for loved ones. “As the holiday season approaches, the Mathews County Christmas Store is here to make sure our local families in need have to make that tough call,” La Casse said.The annual event serves over 650 members of this small community, with residents in need participating in a holiday shopping experience.
