The College of William and Mary’s Virginia Institute of Marine Science and Batten School, Gloucester Point, has announced its program calendar for the month of October.Lab & Trunk-or-TreatVIMS will host a Marine Science Mad Lab & Trunk-or-Treat on Friday, Oct. 23, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Seawater Research Lab and the Triangle Parking Lot.Explore hands-on experiments and spooky science demonstrations that reveal how deep-sea creatures have adapted to survive in the dark, crushing depths of the ocean. Discover the real animals that inspired legends of sea monsters and famous movie beasts while uncovering the surprising science behind their strange adaptations.Scientists and educators on campus will host a trunk-or-treat with special marine-themed decorations.
