Ware Academy recently wrapped up its successful fall athletics programs. The Waves varsity soccer team capped off a winning season with its second consecutive ISAC Soccer Tournament Championship.
Ware posted a 6-2 win over St. Clare Walker Middle School in the tourney final and a 10-2 season record. Marshall Barrack accounted for six Ware tournament goals, including four in the championship game.
Other Ware varsity soccer players were Mark Wilson, Maria Spadaccini, Marianne Warrington, Olivia Cross, Jack Corson, Skyler Lennon, Brennen Miller, Jack Elkin, Brett Pausic, Sam Jasinski, Jess Haley and keeper Owen Curry.
The Waves varsity girls’ volleyball team had its third straight winning season with a 5-3 record. The team’s 18-match winning streak was snapped late in the season by Highland School. The netters included Lily Turner, Sabrina Barrack, Makenzie Fletcher, Sophie Bandurco, Victoria Wilson, Katherine Ransone and Ashley Waite.
The Ware boys’ cross country team was first in four of five season meets, including the debut on campus Ware Invitational. The harriers included Sam Jasinski, Robert Singleton, Caleb Johnson, Sam Gale, Clayton Ware, Carter Ruse, Cooper Ruse, Alex May and Zach Phillips. Ware striders Margaret Strawn, Ellie Gale, Grace Wilson, Eva Jasinski, Tiffany Condron and Ashley Shackelford made up the first Ware girls’ cross country team, which improved throughout the season.
