GHS girls shut out Kecoughtan in soccer, have two games this week

The Gloucester High School varsity girls added a win and a tie to their Peninsula District soccer record in recent action.

The Dukes started strong in a 3-0 win at Kecoughtan on Tuesday, with Delaney Doyle scoring on an assist from Mary Williams. Later in the first half, Maegan Beck assisted a second goal from Doyle. Williams tallied another assist in the second half, this time helping Katie Daugherty score the third goal.

The Gloucester girls faced the only other unbeaten district team last Thursday, and left the home field unable to break a 1-1 tie with Menchville. After a scoreless first half, another 30 minutes of play passed before the Dukes went up, 1-0, when Carrie Adams served a perfect corner kick that Audrey Collier tucked into the net.
