Covid case rates remain stable in Virginia

COVID-19 cases continued to decrease across the United States during the past week, with about 88,400 cases per day over a seven-day average.

In Virginia, cases remained stable during the week, said the weekly update from Dr. Richard Williams, medical director of the Three Rivers Health District. The seven-day average statewide was 2,500 cases per day, while Three Rivers District had an average in the mid-30s during the week, including outbreaks.

In Gloucester, the Covid community level was low as of Wednesday morning, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. Mathews and Middlesex both had medium community levels, along with Lancaster, Richmond, and Essex counties. The remaining four counties in the district—Richmond, Westmoreland, King and Queen, and King William—all had high community levels.
