The Virginia Institute of Marine Science is hosting in-person public tours at its Gloucester Point campus from 10-11:30 a.m. every Friday through August.
During these guided tours, guests will receive an overview of VIMS, an up-close look at terrapins and fishes of the Chesapeake Bay in the VIMS visitor center, a visit to the Acuff Center for Aquaculture to learn how oysters are grown and a special tour of the Nunnally Ichthyology Collection.
Tours are free and designed for adults. Children must be at least nine years old to attend. Space is limited. Registration is required and must be completed at least two days in advance.
Registration will open on the VIMS events webpage one week before each tour date.
