The Northern Neck-Middle Peninsula chapter of the Virginia Aeronautical Historical Society will hold a presentation and dedication of two VAHS Hall of Fame portraits when the group meets next Thursday, Oct. 15. Members of the group will tour the new terminal building at Hummel Field and dedicate the portraits prior to its traditional lunch buffet at the Pilot House Restaurant in Topping after the dedication. Portraits will be dedicated for Ann Baumgartner Carl of Kilmarnock and Maude “Maxine” Walker of Deltaville. Both women, now deceased, were pilots from the area. The group will gather at Hummel Field Airport’s new terminal building at 11:30, with the ceremony at noon. The buffet lunch will follow at 12:30 p.m. The terminal opened in May after the runway was realigned and expanded in 2022.
