THMS Junior Betas to raise money for national convention

The Thomas Hunter Middle School’s Junior Beta Club is a service organization, with its student members helping those in need through fundraisers and other good works.

Now that same club is turning to the community for help as it seeks to raise the money needed to pay for a trip to New Orleans for next June’s National Junior Beta Convention.

On Tuesday, Nov. 24, from 5-8 p.m., the public is invited to a Silent Auction and “Pop Up” Mall, with proceeds going to pay for the bus and other trip expenses. An interesting and eclectic mix of celebrity items, along with donations from local businesses and organizations, has already been collected for the silent auction, which will be held in the school’s Brooks Auditorium.

“We’re committed to going,” said a very determined Amy Hauser, Thomas Hunter Middle School’s assistant principal and Junior Beta Club’s faculty sponsor.
