The Piankatank Ruritan Club in Hudgins will host a forum from 6:30-9 o’clock tonight for school board, sheriff, commissioner of the revenue, and commonwealth’s attorney.

This follows last week’s Ruritan forum for supervisor and clerk’s candidates.

In the final scheduled forum of the 2023 election season, Mathews Branch NAACP #7090 will welcome candidates for Mathews County School Board and Board of Supervisors.

The forum will be held next Wednesday, Oct. 18, at the Cobbs Creek Arts Center. The Rev. Marcus Stallings, pastor of Mathews Chapel United Methodist Church, will serve as moderator.

The evening event will begin with school board candidates (6:30-8), followed by supervisors (8-9:30). The NAACP will open with a couple of questions. The audience will be asked to submit questions on index cards.
