The Gloucester Branch of the NAACP is holding its sixth annual College, Career & Resource Fair next Thursday, Oct. 9, from 5-7 p.m. in the Gloucester High School gym.
According to Gloucester’s NAACP Education Committee Chairperson Melissa “Missy” Southworth, nearly 50 institutions will be attending to inform students of their offerings. The fair will show a broad range of career and higher education options, including colleges, technical schools, military, fire and rescue and more.
Gloucester students, as well as those from surrounding areas, including Mathews, Middlesex, King and Queen, West Point, King William, York and beyond, are all encouraged to attend.
Adults in the community who may be looking for opportunities to further their education or make a career change are also welcome to the event.
Representatives from these institutions will be able to speak on their programs, financial aid, scholarships, classes and potential career paths. There will also be scholarship opportunities for students to explore at the fair.
