Mobjack rowers second overall in points at Philadelphia regatta

The Mobjack Rowing Association summer competitive rowing program returned to Philadelphia for the second time this month on Saturday to compete in the Philadelphia Youth Regatta.

MRA boys entered the junior 16 single, the single dash, the junior 18 four and the pair events. The girls entered the junior 18 and junior 16 fours, the junior 16 double and the pair.

Every Mobjack member medaled at this large regatta and the team took second overall in regatta points, behind Fairmont’s team of over 60 rowers and ahead of Crescent’s 35-member team.

First to launch were MRA boys Zach Payne, Cole Johnson, Andrew Merz, Phillip Machen and cox Matt Hendrix to race the junior 18 four, taking the silver behind Pelham and ahead of Fairmont. Johnson and Payne then sat in the pair with Machen and Merz sitting in a "B" entry for the boys’ pair final.
