MHS set to graduate 58 Saturday

Valedictorian Andrew Greve and salutatorian Mary Elizabeth “Libbie” Hospodar will lead fellow members of the Mathews High School Class of 2024 into the Harry M. Ward Auditorium on Saturday morning for the school’s 85th commencement exercises.

Fifty-eight seniors are set to receive their diplomas in the ceremony, which begins at 10 a.m.

Greve, the son of Andrew and Lynda Greve of Port Haywood, achieved a GPA of 4.65 in his time at Mathews High School. He plans to attend the College of William and Mary in the fall, where he will study pre-pharmacy.

Hospodar, the daughter of Steven and Elizabeth Hospodar of Hallieford, had a GPA of 4.57. She will attend Pennsylvania State University in the fall where she will study landscape architecture.

The program begins with the processional and the playing of “Pomp and Circumstance” by the MHS Symphonic Band under the direction of conductor Mark Givens. Then the school’s choir will perform the National Anthem.
