Local candidate forums begin to be set

With Election Day just around the corner and election season in full swing, a number of local organizations are gearing up for a series of voter forums to inform the electorate on what the various candidates in both Gloucester and Mathews stand for. Several forums are set, and another is in the works.

In Gloucester

In Gloucester, the Gloucester Citizens for Accountable Government will host its third biennial Candidate Forum in the colonial courthouse from 7-9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Doors will open at 6:30.

This candidate forum will feature candidates in contested local races. These races include sheriff, treasurer and Gloucester Point and Ware district candidates for the board of supervisors. All candidates are invited to participate, according to a release.

All Gloucester County citizens are invited to attend the forum and to pose a question to the candidates. Forum rules will apply.
