Lady Dukes post pair of PD victories

The GHS Lady Dukes volleyball team moved to 4-2 in the Peninsula District and 4-5 overall after a pair of PD wins and a loss to Peninsula Catholic in recent action.

The Gloucester girls beat visiting Heritage in straight sets, 25-17, 25-8 and 25-19, on Sept. 28. Colleen Lemay had 12 kills and five blocks in the win, Mikaela Extine had 14 kills and a block and Kelsee Oliver had three aces, six kills, two blocks and 12 assists. Also, Dez’re Maynora-Peters tallied six aces and Samantha Coates had four aces, eight kills, 27 assists and three digs.

The Lady Dukes fell to Peninsula Catholic in four sets last Thursday. PC won the first set, 25-13, Gloucester took the next one, 27-25, and PC took the final two, 25-12 and 25-20. Lemay had 10 digs, six kills and four blocks while Oliver had nine digs and three kills and Brooke Slavnick had two kills and seven digs.
