Jubilee brings in record sales, despite heat

 This weekend’s 40th annual Guinea Jubilee brought in record sales despite the heat and humidity that may have kept some of the crowds away.

Tara Thomas, who co-chairs the festival alongside her husband Brook, said that organizers were very pleased with the success of the annual event. “We felt like attendance might have been a little lighter,” Thomas said. “As beautiful as the weekend was, it was very hot and humid.”

She said proceeds from the festival topped $20,000 though, which was more than she could find that any previous festival had brought in. “We feel the festival was well attended and we had a lot of compliments on the parade and the festival as a whole.”
