All county offices and DMV customer service centers in Gloucester and Mathews will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 24 and 25, in observance of the Christmas holiday.
All courts in both counties will close at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 23, and remain closed the rest of the week.
Gloucester libraries will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Saturday, reopening for regular hours on Monday, Dec. 28. Mathews Memorial Library will close at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 23, and remain closed through the weekend.
Gloucester schools will be closed for the holidays from Monday, Dec. 21, through Friday, Jan. 1. Mathews schools will be closed from Wednesday, Dec. 23 through Friday, Jan. 1. Both systems will resume studies on Monday, Jan. 4.
All waste facilities in Gloucester will be closed on Friday, Dec. 25 only. The Mathews transfer station will close at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 24, and remain closed through Christmas Day.
ABC stores in both counties will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve, but will be closed on Christmas Day.
Although federal facilities will be closed on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, post offices are currently scheduled to be closed only on Christmas Day.
