The Gloucester High School varsity boys’ basketball team split a pair of games in recent action, beating Nansemond River, 67-64, on Jan. 18 before falling at Hampton, 76-43, on Friday.
Sophomore Tyrik Ward led the Dukes against the Crabbers with 13 points. Gloucester now stands at 9-6 on the season with five games remaining. The Dukes play at Kecoughtan on Friday.
The Gloucester varsity girls are still looking for a win after falling, 62-25, to Nansemond River and to Hampton, 76-35.
