Yvonne Leggett, 54, of Suffolk, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Sentara Obici Hospital.

She was born September 18, 1961 to Earl B. Leggett and Peggy Ann Jenkins Leggett, both preceding her in death.

Yvonne was a retired commercial and residential painter. Yvonne was a lover of wildlife and nature. Her love for the outdoors led her to enjoy metal detecting, working in the yard, traveling and being on the water. She had a great love for animals and two pets, Brewster and Sylvester, preceded her in death. Yvonne was a wonderfully kind person who touched many lives and will be lovingly remembered.

She is survived by her companion of 21 years, Gina Sawyer; brother, Jack Leggett; sisters, Joyce Jessen and husband Freddie, and Sharon L. Montgomery and husband Mike; and her pets, Boo-Boy the parrot and Shilo the cat. She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Earl Leggett.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
