York River Yacht Club to hold Moonlight Race on Aug. 1

York River Yacht Club will host its 2020 Moonlight Race on Saturday, Aug. 1. The contest will start in the evening around sunset and finish after dark, following a course that will take competitors out around York Spit Light and back.

Details will be in the special sailing instructions posted on the YRYC racing website (yryc.org/racing). This race will include a spinnaker and a non-spinnaker Fleet. The starting line is buoy R24.

The race is open to all boats who meet Performance Handicap Racing Fleet of the Chesapeake Fleet Safety Requirements for Chesapeake Bay, Category 4P.

Winners of the Moonlight Race receive the John Dworak Memorial Trophy. Entry fee of $10 for boats not already registered for the 2020 racing season with YRYC.
