World’s Oldest Ham celebrates 122nd birthday

Virginians treasure old ham. This weekend, they can help to celebrate the 122nd birthday of Hammy, the World’s Oldest Ham, residing at the Isle of Wight County Museum in Smithfield.

The birthday celebration is from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, and will include the singing of Hammy Birthday and the cutting of cake. The museum will also launch its annual Pan Ham photo contest.

The actual ham can be viewed at the museum, located at 103 Main Street, Smithfield.
