Willard Rayfield “Buddy” Hudgins III, 76, of Quinton, Virginia, passed away on Monday, Jan. 24, 2022. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of TKD and a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan. He received his undergraduate degree from Old Dominion University, and his graduate degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Will was listed in the “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers,” and was a lifelong educator.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Ingram Hudgins; a son, Jonathan Walker Hudgins; a sister, Linda Hudgins Lawrence, and a loving grand-dog, “Sammy.”

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022, at Mathews Baptist Church, Hudgins, Virginia, burial followed in H.C. Smither Memorial Cemetery. A reception was held in the church social hall.
