Wetlands board approves shoreline improvement request

The Gloucester County Wetlands Board unanimously approved a request from William and Melinda Montgomery of York Haven Lane during its Nov. 9 meeting.

The Montgomerys sought the authorization to construct one stone groin with a 50-foot T-head, two groins with 25-foot L-heads and beach nourishment with associated bank grading. Included in the project was the construction of a 6-foot by 150-foot treated timber pier with a 20-foot by 20-foot platform, boatlift and catwalk.

Following the wetlands board meeting, its members reconvened as the Gloucester County Chesapeake Bay Preservation and Erosion Commission to review a request from Joseph and Jennifer Guerrero. They requested to encroach onto the RPA buffer for the demolition of a dilapidated storage building and construct an 1,800-square-foot metal building on Tappan Lane. The commission decided to continue the application until next month.
