West Point, Tabb Elementary named Blue Ribbon Schools

Two regional elementary schools—West Point Elementary and Tabb Elementary in Yorktown—were among seven Virginia schools and 297 nationally that were recognized last week as 2022 National Blue Ribbon Schools.

The recognition is based on a school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona made the announcement during his Road to Success Back to School bus tour.

Other Virginia schools on the list included Saint Agnes School in Arlington, Mosaic Elementary in Fairfax, Nuckols Farm Elementary in Henrico, Coles Elementary in Manassas, and Old Donation School in Virginia Beach.
