Treasures from the museum

The Gazette-Journal continues its series this week focusing on local museums, as it highlights the preservation and education efforts of many Gloucester and Mathews organizations. This week, we take a look at the Pocahontas Museum in Gloucester and the Mathews Maritime Museum. The museums’ workers shared the purpose of their establishment and pointed out their most important collections. The Pocahontas Museum is located off Gloucester’s Main Street at 7339 Lewis Avenue. The museum operates by appointments only.
