Wesley Harold Oast Jr. of Gloucester Point, died on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Riverside Regional Medical Center. He was 77. Wesley retired from Newport News Shipbuilding as a Master Shipbuilder of 50 years, graduated from the Apprentice School, and was a member of the Abingdon Ruritan Club. Family, hard work, sports of any kind, racing, along with a little luck from the lottery, scratch tickets, or Pick 3 were a few of his favorite things. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Linda Oast; four children, Cathy Cavanaugh, Tracy Wiegand, Stacy Grosley (Robert), Travis Oast (Emily); seven grandchildren, Michael Cavanaugh, Wesley Oast, Desiree Hall, Alison Wiegand, Isabella Rivera, Lincoln Oast, Thea Oast; three great-grandchildren, Miyah Hall, Lucy Oast, Oliver Oast; siblings, Janet Livengood, Billy Oast, and his faithful “baby-kitty.” The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, from 10-10:45 a.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, followed by a chapel service at 11 o’clock. Interment will be held at 1 p.m. in Peninsula Memorial Park Cemetery.
