Wendy Hudgins Owens, 74, of Bohannon, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Riverside Convalescent CenterMathews. Wendy was a lifelong resident of Mathews County and graduated in 1966 from Mathews High School. She retired after 16 years from the Virginia Farm Bureau. Her family was incredibly important to her, especially her grandchildren, who were the joy of her life. She loved to laugh with her family and friends and plan family gatherings and vacations, especially those that involved holidays and birthdays. Wendy always went out of her way to make every event special and personal. She always was one of the first to help support members of her family and the community in times of need. Her hobbies were reading, baking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, needlework and travel.

She was predeceased by her parents, Eugene Hudgins and Catherine Garrett; brothers-in-law, Richard Owens and James Owens.

Wendy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She is survived by her husband, David Owens; her children, Christopher Owens and Amy Adams; son-in-law, Walter Boge; grandchildren, Toni and Nicole Adams; half-sister to Cathy White and Coles Hudgins; sister-in-law to Keith and Kathy Owens, Dianne Owens, Kent and Paula Owens and Gene and Pauline Sears, and an aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

The family received friends on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, from 1-2 p.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, Virginia. A funeral service was held in the funeral home chapel at 2 o’clock, followed by burial at Horn Harbor Cemetery, Peary, Virginia.
