Weekend of thanks

As families around the country gathered for Thanksgiving dinner last Thursday, it seems only fitting that for the 10th and what may be the last Thanksgiving community dinner hosted by Courthouse Restaurant, the family of owners Kim and Doug Hibbs came to lend a hand. “It was our biggest year ever,” said Kim Hibbs, with over 350 served—at no charge—as a way for the Gloucester Court House restaurant to give back to the community. The restaurant is now on the market and may be in new hands the next time the holiday rolls around. “Our prayer is whoever keeps the restaurant continues to do what we do” with the Thanksgiving dinner and community fundraisers, she said. “The people made me cry. It was very overwhelming … with joy,” Kim Hibbs added.
