Washed out

A portion of Indian Road (Route 605) between Mohican Drive and Zion Hill Baptist Church near Pinero was closed Tuesday morning for an indefinite period of time after to a portion of the road that crosses Beech Swamp washed out (as shown in the photo above), said VDOT communications coordinator Darragh Frye. Crews do not have an immediate reopening date, and are working on setting up a detour, assessing the damage and developing plans for repair, she said. Motorists traveling to and from the Harcum area can use either Figg Shop Road or Farys Mill Road as a detour to bypass the area of Indian Road that is closed to through traffic.
