Virginia Mae Owens West, age 70, of Hayes, died on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, with her family by her side. Virginia enjoyed spending her time outside tending to her garden and could often be found working on her quilting. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas E. Owens Sr. and Virginia Kellum Owens. Virginia is survived by her husband, Carl M. West Sr.; son, Carl M. West Jr.; siblings, Carolyn Crewe, Debbie Cowden (Randy), Lisa Thacker, and Thomas Owens (Debbie). The family received friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Friday, July 1, 2022, from 6-7:30 p.m. A funeral service conducted by Pastor Richard Whiteheart was held in the Chapel of Hogg Funeral Home on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at 11 a.m., followed by interment in Rosewell Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
