Vernon “Bo” Charles Haywood, a native of Gloucester, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021, at Mary Immaculate Hospital. Vernon retired from AAFES and was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon A. and Elizabeth L. Haywood. He is survived by his wife, Madge; daughter, Laura Spencer; three grandchildren; siblings, Becky Haywood, Johnnie L. Haywood, Philip Haywood (Marcia), and two nephews he was especially close to, Johnnie Haywood Jr. and Phil Haywood. The family received friends at Hogg Funeral Home, Monday, Dec. 6, 2021 from 6-7:30 p.m. A funeral service was held Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hogg Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart, followed by burial at Rosewell Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
