Vehicle fire

Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad firefighters responded to a vehicle fire that threatened a structure Tuesday evening off Carmines Island Road, Hayes. According to AVFRS spokesperson Robert Parlett, firefighters arrived on scene just before 6 o’clock to find a car with its engine in flames. The car was parked in front of a carport with another vehicle and several sets of tires inside. Parlett said the fire was quickly brought under control and no injuries were reported. AVFRS responded with an engine, tanker, rescue unit, medic unit and 11 volunteers. ...
