Two Virginia authors to take part in library’s Visiting Author Series

Two noted Virginia authors  will appear at Mathews Memorial Library this spring as part of the library’s Visiting Author Series.

Brad Parks, whose recently published book, “Say Nothing,” received the People’s Choice Award for Fiction at the 21st Annual Library of Virginia Literacy Awards Celebration honoring Virginia writers, will be at the library at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 25. A former journalist for the Washington Post and former resident of Middlesex, Parks has appeared at the library on several occasions in discussion of his mysteries, one of which featured Mathews as the setting for the novel.

Earl Swift, author of “Chesapeake Requiem,” will visit the library at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 9. His book takes an intimate look at Tangier Island, its past, present and tenuous future.
