TOGA annual meeting at VIMS on March 30

The Tidewater Oyster Gardeners Association will hold its annual meeting from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, March 30 at Watermen’s Hall on the campus of the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Gloucester Point.

Those interested in growing oysters are invited to attend. Agency representatives from VIMS, the Virginia Marine Resources Commission and the Virginia Department of Health will be in attendance, and Dr. Rowan Lockwood, professor of geology at the College of William and Mary will speak at 3 p.m. All are welcome; membership is not required to attend. 

From 1-2 p.m., visitors will check in, be able to shop TOGA merchandise (including oyster floats and supplies) and speak with experienced Master Oyster Gardeners. TOGA’s Middle School Writing Contest readings and winner presentations will follow.
