This year’s Gloucester’s Veterans Day ceremony moved to Post 75

Gloucester’s annual Veterans Day ceremony, hosted by the Middle Peninsula Detachment #1317 of the Marine Corps League, will be held at American Legion Post #75 this year. The event will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, organizers decided to forego the traditional ceremony held at the courthouse in favor of a more abbreviated, yet fitting one, a release stated.

There will be opening remarks with wreaths laid by organizations from around the county at the base of the flags that fly on the post grounds. American Legion Post #75 is located at 5849 American Legion Way, off Route 17 south of Gloucester Court House.

The ceremony will be open to the public. Those attending are asked to help mitigate the spread of the virus by wearing masks and observing social distancing.
