Teen pleads guilty in shooting

One of two local teenagers charged with shooting and wounding a third Gloucester teen last summer pleaded guilty to his charges in Gloucester Circuit Court on Monday.

Juan Xavier Bautista, 15, of Hayes pleaded guilty to the felonies of malicious wounding and use of a firearm in committing a felony. He also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of possessing a firearm under the age of 18. Judge Jeffrey Shaw accepted the pleas and found Bautista guilty of all three charges.

In proffering her evidence, Gloucester Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Megan Zwisohn said Gloucester deputies were dispatched to the Farys Mill Road side of Beaverdam Park on July 17, 2018.

There they located a 14-year-old male suffering from multiple gun shot wounds. The wounded teen was able to tell a deputy that he had been shot by Bautista and Dishon Robinson, 17, who each used the same .40 caliber Smith and Wesson to shoot him several times.
