The Fairfield Foundation will host its fourth annual Tea at Timberneck from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, at the Timberneck House within Machicomoco State Park, Hayes. The afternoon tea serves as a fundraiser supporting the continued restoration and maintenance of the historic Timberneck House as it nears completion with exhibit space and overnight lodging. Guests will enjoy traditional tea with homemade sweet and savory offerings, a presentation on historic tea traditions by Ladies Victorian, and guided tours of the Timberneck House, including a preview of recent restoration milestones such as new climate control, completed bathrooms, and finish painting underway. They will also have music provided by the Courthouse Community Orchestra. This year’s event coincides with the America 250th commemoration, with Fairfield Foundation highlighting Gloucester County’s role in the American Revolution through its programs and sites.
