Talks continue on GHS renovation

The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors expressed its intention Tuesday night to continue dialogue with the county’s school board about funding for renovations at Gloucester High School.

The school board is requesting close to $20 million more for the project than what the board of supervisors had decided to allocate.

A joint session with the two boards will likely be scheduled during the supervisors’ next regular meeting June 4 to discuss the matter further.

Last month, the board of supervisors made a decision that the renovations at GHS would not exceed $36.6 million. That decision came after the supervisors examined documents they received from the school board and school superintendent speaking of the most critical elements that needed immediate attention at the aging school.
