Supervisors hold off on Page athletic fields decision

The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors postponed making a decision about funding the construction of athletic field facilities on the new Page Middle School site during Tuesday night’s meeting in the colonial courthouse, expressing concerns that the school board is no longer interested in holding up its end of the bargain.
Supervisors had planned to fund construction of the athletic fields as the first step in a process that would have included the school board transferring a portion of the old Page school site to the county for economic development.
However, following escalated tensions between the two boards during budget deliberations, supervisors are concerned that the school board is no longer interested in working with them on this agreement.
