There’s no need to cook before the Super Bowl on Feb. 7. Good cooks in lower Gloucester will fill your table.

The Abingdon Ruritan Club is holding a clam chowder sale from 9 a.m. until noon (or sellout) on Saturday, Feb. 6. The sale will take place in front of the Ruritan Club located at 8784 Guinea Road in Bena. The cost is $10 a quart, payable by cash or by check to the Abingdon Ruritan Club.

A short walk down the road, the Guinea Heritage Association will be distributing pre-purchased barbecue from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., also on Feb. 6.

Orders are due today through the GHA website, guineaheritage.org, or by calling 757-251-8074. Order forms may also be filled out today at Lyn’s Mini Mart at Bena.

The cost is $10 a pound, limit five pounds per customer.
