State, local races on ballot as voters head to the polls Tuesday

Voters will head out to the polls Tuesday to cast their ballots in a number of state and local races. Polls in both counties will be open from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. and all voters must be registered and show a photo ID in order to vote.

In Gloucester, voters will cast their ballots for two statewide races—Virginia’s 3rd District Senate seat and the 98th District seat on the House of Delegates. Voters will also have several local races to make decisions on, including members of the Gloucester Board of Supervisors and School Board, as well as Commonwealth’s Attorney, Commissioner of the Revenue, Sheriff, Treasurer and Soil and Water directors.

In Mathews, voters will also have a chance to cast their ballots in two statewide races—Virginia’s 6th District Senate seat and the 98th District seat on the House of Delegates.
