Spring is coming

Fairfield Foundation staff and Gloucester Daffodil Club members planted 325 daffodil bulbs this week around the Fairfield Foundation, Gloucester’s center for archaeology, education, and preservation. Eight different daffodil cultivars were planted in beds around the finely restored old gas station. The daffodils should be blooming about the time of the 33rd annual Daffodil Festival on Main Street and the Gloucester Daffodil Show at Botetourt Elementary School, April 6-7, 2019. The daffodil cultivars are Fortissimo, Ceylon, Tamara, Monal, Thalia, Cragford, Cassata and Smiling Twin.
