The Abingdon Ruritan Club recently made $500 donations to two Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office programs—Shop with a Cop and DARE. In top photo, ARC board member Mike Ekdahl presents the check to GCSO Investigator Kyrstin Shackelford. The SWAC Program is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization created to assist children and families. The missions of this program are to help Gloucester County children in need and to unite law enforcement with the community it serves. Below, Ekdahl hands the check to Sheriff Darrell Warren for DARE, which is a collaborative effort by certified law enforcement officers, educators, students, parents, and community to offer an educational program in the classroom to prevent or reduce drug abuse and violence among children and youth.
