Sewer repair

HRSD was replacing a vacuum pot in Mathews High School’s septic system on Tuesday. Ryan Wilson, foreman with Walter C. Via Enterprises of West Point, the contractor for the project, said that the system wasn’t working up to par, so it needed to be upgraded in order for the wastewater to be able to be pumped from the high school to HRSD’s main vacuum line and pump station. He said the pump would be installed and covered by the end of the day Tuesday and the entire project, including replacement of the concrete that had to be excavated to access the pipes, should be completed by Friday. ...
