Sentara Health donates $100,000 to increase access to mental health services

Bacon Street Youth and Family Services has received a $100,000 donation from Sentara Health to assist with increasing access to mental health and substance abuse services for youth and families identified as low income in the communities it serves.

Based in Williamsburg, Bacon Street Youth and Family Services is a leading non-profit youth mental health and substance use organization dedicated to creating healthier families and more resilient youth through evidence-based behavioral health and substance use services for adolescents, young adults, and their families. Bacon Street also maintains offices in Gloucester, as well as York-town and Newport News.

The $100,000 donation from Sentara will be utilized by Bacon Street to support its mission by hiring a full-time clinician who has a caseload that is specifically focused on low-income clients in its service area to expand services for clients who are either uninsured or underinsured.
