A 20-year-old Saluda woman died following a single-vehicle crash Tuesday in Gloucester.

Elle Wrenn Hartley, of the 3600 block of Autrey Lane, was the driver and sole occupant of a 2015 Kia Sedan traveling southbound on Route 17, south of Ark Road, when the vehicle she was driving ran off the road and overturned before striking a tree at approximately 5:18 p.m., according to the Virginia State Police.

Hartley was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash, and died upon impact, the VSP stated.
This was the fifth traffic fatality in Gloucester in 2022.
