‘Rudy Bears’

The Abingdon Ruritan Club presented Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue with stuffed “Rudy Bears” at the club’s Feb. 11 meeting. The official mascot of the national community service organization, the bears will be distributed to children as needed that have been involved in traumatic events, such as fires, accidents, abuse, etc. The intent of the bears is to help ease their anxiety and refocus their attention to something positive.
