The Mathews County Community Roadside Cleanup will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday at various sites across the county.

Participants will meet for coffee, hot chocolate, and donuts at 8 a.m. at the Mathews Visitor Center, where they’ll pick up such supplies as bags, orange vests and nets on poles.

Volunteers may identify a road they want to clean up or have one assigned. After cleaning their designated portion of roadside, workers will count their bags and leave them on the side of the road for VDOT to pick up.

Free pizza will be provided for lunch at noon at MCVIC, and there will be door prizes.

Rain date is Saturday, Nov. 17.
