The Gwynn’s Island Civic Center grounds became a battlefield for Revolutionary War reenactors commemorating the 242nd anniversary of the Battle of Cricket Hill last weekend at the culmination of Revolutionary Week in Mathews. General Andrew Lewis’s men and their cannon, above, forced Lord Dunmore and his troops, below, to retreat. At bottom, reenactors take a break from battle to enjoy lunch.
