Planning a family reunion? Let Newport News Tourism and the Family Reunion Institute give you a hand. Join Newport News Tourism online from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, for a free reunion-planning workshop.

Called “The Brick Wall: Part 1,” the event will address some of the challenges and snags that reunion planners face when organizing family reunions. It will provide strategies to break through the metaphorical “brick wall” so the planning process stays on track.

Topics of discussion range from overcoming funding obstacles to getting younger family members involved. This online workshop will also include presentations, discussions with participant input, polling, door prizes, and a videotaped spotlight on Newport News, which is sponsoring the workshop.

“We’re hoping the video will inspire planners to think of Newport News for their next family reunion,” said Cheryl Morales, Marketing Manager with Newport News Tourism.
